The UEFA Executive Committee has selected Germany’s Munich Football Arena and Barcelona’s Camp Nou to stage the UEFA Champions League finals in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
The decision was made during the UEFA Executive Committee meeting in Thessaloniki, Greece, where host venues across several upcoming European club showpieces were revealed.
Under the announced lineup, the Munich Football Arena will host the 2028 UEFA Champions League final, while Barcelona’s Camp Nou will host the final in the 2029 edition.
Host locations for the UEFA Women’s Champions League finals were also ratified. OL Stadium in Lyon-Decines will host the 2028 showpiece, followed by the National Stadium of Wales in Cardiff for the 2029 final.
For the UEFA Europa League, Bucharest’s National Arena will host the 2028 final, with the National Stadium of Serbia in Belgrade set to stage the 2029 match.
Meanwhile, the UEFA Conference League finals were awarded to Juventus Stadium in Turin for 2028 and the Puskas Aréna in Budapest for 2029.
The UEFA Champions League final 2027 is scheduled to take place at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid, Spain, on 5 June 2027. Earlier that same month, the UEFA Conference League final will be held at Besiktas Park in Istanbul, Turkiye, on 2 June 2027, while the UEFA Europa League final is set for 26 May 2027 at the Stadion Frankfurt in Frankfurt, Germany.
UEFA announces Nations League updates
UEFA further confirmed venues for upcoming showcase matches across other major competitions. The Johan Cruyff Arena in Amsterdam will host the 2027 UEFA Super Cup, while the 2028 match will take place at the Astana Arena in Astana. Additionally, the Biel/Bienne Arena in Switzerland was named the host for the 2027 UEFA Futsal Champions League final.
Beyond stadium announcements, the Executive Committee ratified adjustments to the promotion and relegation system for the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League. These changes are designed to facilitate a seamless transition into the updated format adopted in May 2026, which will feature three leagues instead of four starting with the 2028/29 season.
The next assembly of the UEFA Executive Committee is set for December 7 in Belfast, Northern Ireland, coming one day after the same city hosts the UEFA EURO 2028 qualifying draw.
