Arne Slot calls this his toughest season as Liverpool fight

Manager Arne Slot admitted this has been his toughest season to date as a coach, with his inconsistent Liverpool side battling to seal UEFA Champions League qualification less than a year after coasting to the English Premier League (EPL) title.
The Reds lost their most recent EPL encounter 1-2 to rivals Manchester City, further ramping up the pressure on the Dutch coach, who is hoping they can rebound from that result in style when they host Sunderland on Wednesday.

When asked by a reporter if this was his toughest season as a coach, Slot replied: “Yeah, that’s fair to say. By a mile! Because all the other seasons there was only positives. The reality is we haven’t performed to Liverpool’s standards” said the Dutchman.
The Reds have won just one of their last seven EPL games, and find themselves in sixth place (39 points), a situation that Slot thinks is unacceptable come the end of the season.
“If we don’t have Champions League football [secured] it has not been an acceptable season. It has an enormous impact on how this club is run. I am completely aware of that.” Slot admitted.
