Legendary Portuguese footballer Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday confirmed his marriage to long-time partner Georgina Rodriguez.
The footballer shared a post on his official social media handle. In the picture, Cristiano and Georgina are holding each other’s hands and wearing their rings.

Ronaldo was in action in the concluded FIFA World Cup 2026. In the marquee tournament, Portugal was eliminated in the round of 16. The side suffered a 0-1 loss against Spain. The game was expected to be full of goals, considering the likes of Cristiano, Bruno Fernandes, Lamine Yamal, and Mikel Oyarzabal.
The tournament also marked Ronaldo’s last FIFA World Cup, as he announced ahead of the clash against Spain. However, after the late goal from Mikel Merino, Ronaldo left the field with sorrow and tears.
Since Cristiano’s debut at the grandest stage, Portugal has achieved fourth place in his debut tournament in 2006, followed by a round of 16 in the 2010 edition, then a group stage exit in 2014 and then another pre-quarterfinal exit in 2018. The 2022 edition saw Portugal doing slightly better, making it to the quarterfinals, but it was his long-time rival Lionel Messi who pretty much ended the ‘GOAT’ debates by capturing the prestigious trophy for Argentina and delivering a sensational performance in the final.
Cristiano’s FIFA World Cup career ended with 27 matches (second most by a player) and just 11 goals, underwhelming for a player of his stature and level of club accomplishments.
Heading into the tournament, there were a lot of questions around Cristiano’s participation, but as an individual, he had a rather decent outing, with three goals in five matches in this edition.

Later, Argentina suffered a loss in the final of the FIFA World Cup 2026 against Spain.
Spain edged Argentina 1-0 after extra time, bringing an end to Messi’s title defence and completing an impressive unbeaten campaign in which La Roja conceded just one goal in eight matches.
The defeat signalled the end of a remarkable era for Argentina and Messi, who guided his country to the 2022 FIFA World Cup title and Copa America triumphs in 2021 and 2024.
Substitute Ferran Torres emerged as the hero of the final clash, scoring the decisive goal in the 106th minute with a powerful strike into the roof of the net beyond Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.
