Germany star striker Deniz Undav reveals being diagnosed with food allergy

Germany star striker Deniz Undav, who scored three brilliant goals during their FIFA World Cup campaign last month, has revealed that he has a terrifying food allergy which almost killed him on two different occasions.
The Stuttgart player, 30, opened up about his worrying encounters in a podcast recently when asked if he likes sushi. “Yes, but only with salmon or vegetarian. Because I can’t eat shrimp,” said Undav.
“I’ve had an allergic reaction twice; I almost died both times. Everything [inside the mouth] swells up, and I can’t breathe. I’d never even heard of that before,” said Undav, adding that he’s particularly allergic to seafood, including lobsters and mussels.
