Messi gifts his mates! Argentina captain thanks his teammates with gifts

While the recent FIFA World Cup ended in tears for Lionel Messi and Argentina, beaten 0-1 by Spain in the final, the 2022 World Cup-winning skipper has tried his best to put a smile on the faces of his teammates by graciously handing out gifts to the whole squad.
Defender Marcos Senesi’s girlfriend Kelci-Rose Bowers revealed that every Argentina player received a personalised leather backpack with their name on it, a gold water bottle, and a mate tea set that includes a drinking gourd, a metal straw with a filter and mate tea leaves. Mate is a popular traditional caffeinated drink in the South American nation. “This is for his mate, a mate gifted from Messi to all the players. A gold Stanley for everyone to have mate in. Marcos gave it to me to keep safe and take back to Miami,” Bowers wrote on Instagram.
While the tournament ended in a forgettable manner for Messi, his individual performance at the age of 39 was incredible. He finished with eight goals and four assists in eight matches.
