FIFA President Gianni Infantino is notorious for making headlines for the wrong reasons, and he has got himself in a sticky situation yet again after being accused of having a secret love affair during his stint at UEFA as general secretary.
Infantino, 56, who held the high-profile job at Europe’s governing body from 2009 to 2016, is also accused of having promoted the woman in that period. She also received a six-figure sum from UEFA in the form of a pay-off after her relationship with Infantino, as reported by The Telegraph.
The development adds to the recent furore against Infantino for planning to sell off some of FIFA’s stake in the World Cup, amounting to $4.2 billion, which put him in danger of losing his FIFA job.
